Costa Rican Specialties has over 15 years of experience working with groups from a wide range of interests. We have put together fund-raising trips for Botanical Gardens and Arboretums, educational trips for Spanish Classes, specially-designed programs for tropical ecology classes and even trips for groups interested in Costa Rican agriculture. A 60 member choir and a biking and hiking group have also been added to our list of satisfied clients.

Our advantage over other companies is that we are all Costa Ricans with our families and friends living in Costa Rica. This gives us in-depth knowledge of the country and a wide net of contacts so that we can meet the specific needs and interests of each group.

As a regular part of our large-group trips we also organize concerts, homestays, special visits to local farms, trips to small and local agriculture businesses, unique presentations by leading authorities on environmental and ecology issues, visits to private gardens, and hikes to out-of-the-way spots.

One of our most popular activities is the parties with people from our hometown of Venecia that we put together in honor of many of the groups. Each time we return to our hometown, friends and neighbors approach us to ask us when are we having our next party with a group of visitors. In this small town, life is simple but very typical of Costa Rica. Our parties represent a unique and special event for everyone involved and a great opportunity for cultural interchange that has led to many lasting friendships. For many of our group participants, the party is one of the real highlights of their trip.

Each of our large groups is accompanied by a local tour escort. These escorts are knowledgeable either of Costa Rica's culture, environment and economy. This person also plays a critical role in assuring that all logistical issues are addressed and that the trip proceeds smoothly.
