General Information

Las Tias Bed & Breakfast is at the Herrera Farm in San Cayetano de Venecia. San Cayetano is a small neighborhood of Venecia. The main activities of the farm are milk and poultry production, agriculture and horse training.

Staying at the farm, you will have a chance to practice speaking Spanish as much as you want.

If you are traveling with others, we can also accommodate couples, friends and small families (either in shared or separate rooms). You can stay as long as you want – from one day to four weeks. See our rates per day and special prices starting from the second week; prices are decreased for double or triple occupancy.

 

Things you can do:

The farm is a wonderful and safe place for walking along the trails, bird watching or just enjoying the unpolluted air.

Las Tias Bed & Breakfast is an excellent place to stay while you take optional tours in the area:

  • Rafting in Sarapiqui (1 hour)

  • Canopy tour (15 minutes)

  • Waterfall Gardens (1 hour)

  • Recreo Verde Hot Springs (10 minutes)

  • Termales del Bosque Hot Springs (20 minutes)

  • Arenal Volcano (2 hours)
  • Pure Trek Canyoning (1.5 hours)

  • Tabacon Hot Springs (1.5 hours)

  • Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge (3 hours)

  • Poas Volcano (1.5 hours)

  • Horseback riding (at the farm)

  • Learn how to dance Latin tropical rhythms (30 minutes)

  • Take some Spanish classes (at the farm)

 

What is included:

Your weekly fee includes the following services:

  1. A safe, clean and comfortable independent room with its own bathroom. Or, if preferred, a fully equipped cabin (one or two beds, bath and kitchen)

  2. Private bedroom

  3. Three meals per day from Monday to Saturday; on Sunday, breakfast only

  4. Laundry service

 

Rates:

The price is $25 per day per person with all meals included.  Call to inquire about discounts for three days or more.

 

Keep in mind:

You will have a key to your room and you are able to leave and come as you like.

Meals are included in the price of your stay (no refunds for meals missed). Please try to notify the Herreras if you do not plan to be at a meal or if you are going away for the weekend so the meal is not prepared.

Special Diet:

Let us know in advance if you prefer vegetarian dishes or if you have any food allergies or other special diet requirements. For vegetarians, there is plenty of rice and beans, as well as many different casseroles prepared with very fresh vegetables and fresh fruit.

We understand some of our food will be new for you, so please feel free to let us know what new dishes you liked (or did not).

 

How to make a reservation:

  1. Please complete the following booking form and mail it to our Stevens Point’ mailing address, as given on the form with the relative payment. Full payment should reach our office 30 days prior your first night.
  2. Upon receipt of your reservation, we will send you confirmation and an informational packet.
  3. Prices are in U.S. dollars. You can pay with money orders or checks.
  4. In case of cancellation a $15 handling charge will be made if cancellation notice is received 30 or less days prior to your scheduled arrival date. No charge will be made for cancellations with more than 30 days prior to your arrival.
